About

Its me!

ok. so what do i do? I work on the web. have for over 10 years now. I have picked up photography again. and this again is really another again. Life is complicated, messy, intriguing, creative and beautiful. The last two take a little bit of work to see. but I really believe it exists everywhere. That is where for me photography begins. I strive to find that little bit of beauty and represent that the best way I can.

What about my professional career. Well as anyone who has gotten into photography can tell you its not cheap, easy or really profitable. Yes there are a lot of people out there making a good living on photography. But I have a family to support and that tends to take number 1 priority. So this is my hobby plain and simple.

I have been into computers for as long as i can remember, my first was like a commodore 64. My interest started back when my elementary school got the green screen apple IIe and Oregon Trail was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. Ever since then I have been learning and building. My first website was built using notepad. I remember that because I had the happy accident of realizing that the view source on the Netscape browser would show the actual web page source code. There was no decompiling, no reverse engineering to do. On the flip side I realized I did not have to have a compiler or special software to make a website. Awesome!.

IE 1.0 was released soon after and Netscape Gold was there too. I tried the Wysiwyg editors and then viewing the source code. Yikes. See even back then I was SEO friendly.  What I adopted as being good website coding practices became great Search Engine Optimization techniques.

When i found out about CGI and form post abilities, Woah!. The light bulb flashed on. Of course you can tie programming and website code to make applications without downloading and installing. Amazing. I was like this will change everything. Of course it was very crude and cryptic to get any kind of application to actually work. And hosting providers. Haaa. Yea that did not happen until a lot later. I was lucky to get an internship with an firm that was going to the web to sell. See back then e-commerce did not really exist yet so this was new and interesting to me. Getting a product on a website, taking orders for the item, then shipping the item, and I got to be part of it. I moved on to a medical billing system that uses a website to track occupancy and billing rates per room, pro-rations and credits. Really really different problems and complex Database and Presentation code challenges peaked my interest. Even today I still am being surprised about what is possible and how fast access and usage is increasing. I always am looking for new challenges.
